NEPAL war eine der ersten heftigen Metalbands. 1988 erschien das erste Split-Demo (mit den göttlichen, aber primitiven DR. JEKYLL), wo sie sehr guten Power Metal spielen. Auf dem beiliegenden Poster sind sie über und über mit Leder und Nieten bedeckt. Auch auf dem 2. Demo wird noch lupenreiner Power Metal geboten. Danach schwenken sie aber auf Thrash in Richtung SACRED REICH ein, wie man auf den zwei CD's hören kann. Die neue CD von 1997 finde ich total durchwachsen. Man wirbt reichlich mit Gastmusikern, wie den SKYCLAD, BLIND GUARDIAN und ANGRA Sängern, usw. Ich hasse dieses verbreitete "Namedropping" denn es sagt nichts über die Qualität einer Scheibe aus. 1995 erschien ein Advance Tape, welches total andere, bessere Versionen von 3 Songs enthält. Gegenüber den CDs, ziehe ich die alten Demos vor und werde mir lieber davon eine CD machen. Im Jahre 2000 kam nun das Ende der Band. Songs für ein neues Album waren schon geschrieben, waren aber noch nicht aufgenommen. Sänger Larry Zavala macht Solo etwas Rock`n Rolliger weiter, und spielt für die Aufnahmen auch Gitarre und Bass ein. Der Basser startet nun sein Soloprojekt BETO VAZQUEZ INFINITY, mit dem er völlig andere, symphonische Musik, mit Frauengesang u.s.w. macht!

This guys were one of the first that made Thrash Metal in Argentina. They started in the mid 80s with Power Metal, and the split demo from 1988 (together with DR. JEKYLL), was really great. The pictures showed them in full leather and spikes outfit. The second demo was still pure and good Power Metal. After that they changed to Thrash in the style of SACRED REICH. This you can hear on the 2 first albums. The last CD is not that straight anymore. They advertise a lot about the guest musicians from ANGRA; SKYCLAD and BLIND GUARDIAN, but this "namedropping" says nothing about the quality of the music. There was an advance tape for the album in 1995 which contained 3 songs in much better versions. I would have preferred to get the old demos on CD. In the year 2000 the band split, and singer Larry Zavala started a solo project more in Rock`n Roll style, where he sings, and for the recording plays bass and guitar. BETO VAZQUEZ INFINITY is the new project of the bass player. Here he plays absolutely different music, very symphonical and uses also female vocals.

Estos chicos fueron de los primeros en hacer Thrash metal en Argentina, empezaron a mediados de los 80, con Power Metal y el demo junto con DR. JEKYLL es tremendo!!! Las fotos los muetran en cuero y con puas como indumentaria, su segundo demo seguia siando buen Power Metal. Luego cambiaron al Thrash en el estilo de SACRED REICH, y esto es lo que escuchas en sus 2 primeros discos, el ultimo CD no es asi de directo, anunciaron mucho acerca de los musicos invitados de ANGRA, SKYCLAD y BLIND GUARDIAN, pero este desperdicio de nombres no dice nada acerca de la calidad de la musica. Hay una version adelantada en kct del disco de 1996 que tiene tres canciones en versiones mejores. Yo prefiero como quiera los viejos demos, y los preferiria en CD. En el 2000 se rompe la banda y el cantante Larry Zabala empieza un proyecto solista en un mas Rock`n Roll estilo, y para la grabacion toca bajo y guitarra. BETO VAZQUEZ INFINITY, es el nuevo proyecto del bajista, aqui toca una musica muy diferente, sinfonica y usa hasta cantante femenina.
