Einige Jungs aus Sao Jose dos Campos (bei Sao Paulo) hatten genug von ihren Bands ATROZ; ETHER und METAFEL, und taten sich 1985 zusammen, darunter waren die Brüder Andre (b, v), und Pyda Rod (g). Ihre ersten Songs waren noch mit portugiesischen Lyrics. Später können sie einen Song auf dem ersten "Rock Brigade" Sampler veröffentlichen. Ihre erste LP ist dann richtig guter Speed Metal, ein seltenes Genre in Brasilien, haben aber typisch einen recht "rotzigen" Sänger. 1988 gibt es mehrere Sängerwechsel, bis Andre selbst den Gesang übernimmt. Auf dem zweiten Album frönen sie dann dem guten "Bay Area Thrash" und heben sich von den meisten viel extremeren Thrash Bands im Land ab. Zur dritten Scheibe gibt es dann eine grosse Umbesetzung, Bruder Pyda steigt aus, und 2 neue Gitarristen (darunter Joao Marcio von MEGATON) und ein Sänger steigen ein. Sie legen dann noch einen Zahn zu, und spielen richtig guten ultraschnellen Thrash. Im Jahre 1994 lösen sie sich dann auf, und es gab eine hoffnungsvolle Band weniger in Brasilien! Die Mitglieder spielen dannach in keiner Band mehr. Erst im Jahre 2000 gründen 3 von ihnen eine AC/DC Cover Band! Als im Jahre 2002 auch noch einer der alten Sänger einsteigt, machen sie mit ATTOMICA weiter!! Im Bandnamen machten sie aber einen kleinen Wechsel in ATOMICA! Das alte Cogumelo Label brachte erstmal einen Re release der "Disturbing the noise" Scheibe auf CD heraus (mit 2 Live Bonus Tracks). Sie selbst nahmen dann erstmal ein Live Album auf. Sie spielen zum Glück immer noch richtig traditionellen Thrash, und nicht den in Brasilien viel verbreiteteren aggressiven Stil. Sie habe schon einige neue Songs geschrieben, und eine CD soll bald aufgenommen werden!! Es gibt auch eine gute neue Homepage, und sie bieten eine interessante DVD mit Live Aufnahmen von 1992 an.!

Some guys from Sao Jose dos Campos (close to Sao Paulo) had enough from their bands ATROZ; ETHER and METAFEL, and founded in 1985 ATTOMICA, including the brothers Andre (b) and Pyda Rod (g). The first songs had portuguese lyrics. Later they managed to participate on the first "Rock Brigade" compilation. Their first album is really good Speed Metal, which was a rare style in Brazil, but they had a typical "snotty" singer. In 1988 they had several changes of the singer, till Andre started to sing himself. On the second album they show their love of typical "Bay Area Thrash", and they distinguished themselves from the typical, more extreme Thrash in the country. Before the third album they had some major changes in the band, brother Pyda leaves and two new guitar players (including Joao Marcio von MEGATON), and a singer join the band. They became faster and played really good, ultra fast Thrash Metal. The band split up in 1994, and Brazil had one hopeful Metal band less! The members did not play in any band afterwards. Only in the year 2000, 3 of the guys came together again in an AC/DC cover band! In 2002 one of the old singers joined them too, and they started again with ATTOMICA! But in the band name they made soon a small change into ATOMICA! The old Cogumelo label re released first the "Disturbing the noise" album on CD (with 2 live bonus tracks). The band themselves recorded first a live album. I feared they changed to the more modern aggressive Thrash style, but gladly they still play traditional Thrash. They write now new material now, and plan to record a new CD soon!! There is also a great new homepage, and they sell also an interesting DVD with live recordings from 1992!

Alguns caras de São José dos Campos ficaram de saco cheio das suas bandas ATROZ, ETHER e METAFEL, e fundaram o ATTOMICA em 1985, que incluía os irmãos André no baixo e Pyda Rod na guitarra. As primeiras músicas tinham letras em português. Mais tarde, eles conseguiram participar da primeira compilação "Rock Brigade". O seu primeiro álbum, que hoje em dia é muito difícil de ser encontrado, é um ótimo Speed Metal, que era um estilo raro no Brasil, mas infelizmente eles tinham um vocalista horrível! Em 1988 houve várias trocas de vocalista, até que André resolveu começar a cantar. No segundo álbum eles mostraram o seu amor pelo típico "Bay Área Thrash", e se distinguiram das típicas bandas mais extremas de Thrash do Brasil. Antes do seu terceiro álbum, houve várias mudanças na banda. O irmão Pyda sai, e dois novos guitarristas, incluindo Márcio do MEGATON, e um vocalista, entram para a banda. Eles ficaram mais rápidos e tocavam um ótimo e rapidíssimo Thrash Metal. A banda acabou em 1994, e o Brasil ficou sem uma ótima banda. Somente no ano de 2000, três dos membros voltaram a tocar juntos, só que agora em um AC/DC cover. Em 2002 um dos velhos vocalistas se juntou a eles, e o ATTOMICA voltou à ativa! Uma pequena mudança no nome e a velha gravadora Cogumelo relançou o primeiro álbum "Disturbing the noise" em CD (com 2 faixas ao vivo). A própria banda gravou o primeiro álbum ao vivo. Eu tinha medo de que eles tivessem mudado para um Thrash mais modernoso, mas felizmente eles ainda tocam o tradicional Thrash. Eles também estão vendendo um interessante DVD com gravações ao vivo de 1992.
