Diese White Metal Band wurde 1992 unter dem Namen BEHEADED gegründet. Es war erst nur ein Projekt von Drummer und Sänger Abel Gomez mit vielen Wechseln. Erst als 1994 Bruder Iram Gomez als Basser einsteigt wird die Sache ernster. Sie touren im ganzen Land und sind 1996/97 auch in den USA auf den White Metal Festivals "Michigan Mosh" und "Texas Rock". Dort in Texas bekamen sie auch den ersten Plattenvertrag mit einem Label aus Australien! Die Firma überzeugt sie auch den Namen zu ändern, und sie wechseln ihn in LAMENT! Ihre erste CD erscheint bei denen noch 1997, und enthält sehr derben Death Metal. Das zweite Album soll im selben Stil sein (habe ich aber nicht). Die anderen Mitglieder wechseln weiter ständig und mal spielen sie als Trio, und mal als Vierer Formation mit 2 Gitarren. Einmal wird Abel auch als Gitarrist und Sänger aufgeführt. In den letzten Jahren sind sie als Trio unterwegs, mit Abel als Sänger une Drummer. Sie spielen dann 2001 auf dem berühmtesten White Metal Fest "Cornerstone", und auf dem sehr grossen "Holy Noise" Festival in Mexico in Jalapa / Veracruz. In Detroit nehmen sie dann das Album "Breathless" auf, worauf sie ihre Musikrichtung total geändert haben! Sie spielen nun total guten und abwechslungsreichen traditionellen Metal! Wann und warum sie diesen Wechsel in der Richtung vollzogen haben war nicht herauszufinden, ist aber zu begrüssen! Sie spielen 2002 auch Live in Guatemala und El Salvador.

This White Metal band was started in 1992 under the name BEHEADED. First it was only a project of drummer and singer Abel Gomez with many changes. Only in 1994, when brother Iram Gomez joined as bass player, the thing became more serious. They toured in the whole country and were also in 1996/97 in the USA at the White Metal festivals "Michigan Mosh" and "Texas Rock". There in Texas they singned also a record contract with an label from Australia! This company convinced them to change the name, and so they took LAMENT! Their first CD was already released in 1997, and contains pure Death Metal. The second album has supposingly the same style (I do not have it). The other members exchange constantly, and sometime they play as trio and at other times with 4 members and 2 guitars. One time Abel seems to have been the guitar player and singer! But in the last years they were only active as trio with Abel on drumms and vocals. In 2001 they play at the biggest White Metal Fest "Cornerstone", and also at the very big "Holy Noise" festival in Mexico in Jalapa / Veracruz. In Detroit they recorded the third album "Breathless" where they made a complete change in music style! They play now really great and diverse traditional Metal!! Why and when they made this change of direction, I could not find out, but this is the style I like! In 2002 they played live in Guatemala and El Salvador.
